Transitioning from my emergency/trauma nurse role to a nurse practitioner marked a significant step in my professional journey. This transition broadened my scope of practice and deepened my commitment to patient care. I was inspired by the opportunity to take on a more comprehensive role in patient management, enabling me to provide immediate care and long-term guidance and support. Becoming a nurse practitioner empowers me to forge lasting connections with my patients and play a more integral role in their healthcare journeys, which fills me with a sense of purpose and professional fulfillment.

My treatment approach is holistic and integrative, encompassing a comprehensive assessment of the mind, body, and spirit concurrently. Rather than solely focusing on the disease, I delve into the social and emotional factors at play and synthesize this information. I firmly believe that if patients are experiencing heightened stress levels, their capacity for proper healing and self-protection is compromised. This, in turn, may hinder the success of their healing process.

In cases of endometriosis, there is no immediate, classic diagnosis involving physical numbers. Consequently, it is imperative to attentively heed the concerns of patients and comprehensively assess their symptoms to provide holistic management for endometriosis. The effective care of individuals struggling with endometriosis necessitates a receptive approach that acknowledges and validates their experiences rather than dismissing them.

The presence of pain should not be dismissed merely because there is no physical injury. Patients should be given the opportunity to communicate their feelings, while healthcare providers should establish a nurturing atmosphere that enables them to do so with ease. Pelvic pain is not normal, but we’ve normalized it, leading individuals, especially women, too often remain silent about their discomfort. Fortunately, as discussions about pelvic health become more commonplace, women are increasingly open about their experiences and are discovering that what they’ve endured isn’t the norm.

I recently had my first experience with Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine at Englewood location , and it has been life-changing. Here’s a summary of my journey:

From the outset, the initial consultation was thorough and compassionate. The medical professional by Jessica Ray took the time to understand my symptoms, medical history, and personal concerns, which established a foundation of trust.

The development of a personalized treatment plan was exceptional. The therapist clearly explained the causes of my symptoms and laid out a step-by-step approach to my rehabilitation, adjusting the plan as needed based on my progress.

I was educated about the anatomy of the pelvic floor, the importance of posture, and lifestyle modifications to support my recovery. This holistic approach addressed both physical and emotional aspects, greatly contributing to my overall well-being.

I highly recommend Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine for anyone considering pelvic rehabilitation. The professionalism, empathy, and effectiveness of the treatment have led to meaningful and lasting improvements in my health.

Thank you to the entire team for your exceptional care.

For anyone with pelvic issues I highly recommend this practice. Jessica Ray helped me regain the confidence I needed to believe that I no longer needed to live in pain. Like any health issue it’s a personal journey but you need a team of professional attentive and caring individuals to help you along the way. Everyone from the front desk to the medical staff were all top notch and made me feel heard and cared for.

I was struggling with unknown GI related issues and pain in my groin and pelvic region for almost two years…. I had seen multiple GI doctors, went through many invasive procedures, given various medicines and tried changing my diet— all to no avail. I had started to give up hope that I would ever feel normal again. After doing more research about my symptoms, I cross referenced things i knew I didn’t have based on prior tests and procedures that did not yield improvement, with things that matched my symptoms that I had not explored yet. That is how I found Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. After about 5 weeks of treatments, I believe they are going to be my solution, and subsequently the end of almost 2 years of debilitating discomfort. The Doctor who specializes in pelvic pain, Jessica Ray, is extremely knowledgeable and had excellent bedside manner. She was very understanding of my specific issues, took the time to hear about the previous doctor visits that didn’t yield improvement, and factored that into her evaluation process— something many doctors seemingly can’t be bothered to do these days, as they rush you out in a hurry. That was not the case at all at with Dr. Ray over at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. The nurse Vanessa, has also been very professional and kind to me during my treatments. Michelle, the front desk receptionist has also been a superstar through this process. She has made it extremely easy to schedule appointments and call for payment options at our convenience. I genuinely appreciate the interaction with such an upbeat, happy and energetic person on my way in and out the door. She does an exceptional job at representing the practice as the first person a patient sees when they walk in, professional, prompt and informed and to greet and interact with patients with such kindness is an added bonus.

All in all, I walked into pelvic rehabilitation medicine for the first time in late November 2023, having struggled with the same issues persisting and not improving despite numerous doctoral efforts since February 2022. In the 5 or so weeks since I’ve been identified as a candidate for treatment, and undergone the series of weekly trigger point injections along with PT, I have felt more improvement than from all prior doctors and efforts combined. The relief has been immediately noticeable to a tremendous degree. I cannot thank these people enough for allowing me to feel like a normal healthy human being again.

If you are a man, struggling with what you think might be GI issues, and it seems that nothing has helped, I 100% recommend this place. Everyone has a pelvic floor, not just women!
