Beyond happy that I made the choice to come to LA to go to the Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine. The team is amazing here and have helped me better understand endometriosis and the inflammatory process on my nerves and muscles from the condition. I am from Canada and would recommend anyone with endo who is struggling to find relief to come here for help!! You will be heard and validated! Words can’t describe how thankful I am to feel like I have answers and am seeing improvements after two rounds of injections.
I have been suffering from pelvic pain for most of my life. I was diagnosed with endometriosis via excision in 2021 and after about a year, my pain returned and new symptoms came with it. I have been misdiagnosed by every possible doctor, even told that I needed to learn to live with the pain, and that the pain was simply part of living life. I am halfway through my treatment at PRM and Dr. Ahmed has changed what going to the doctor is like for me. She listens to understand, is constantly recommending ways for me to live and manage my symptoms at home, and she has throughly explained the PRM Protocol and made sure we are targeting my pain for healing. Each treatment has gotten easier, and I’ve had pain free days for the first time in probably 15 years. I am so grateful to the whole office for treating me so kindly, and I look forward to finishing my pre-hab, having my surgery with PRM and then doing post hab. For the first time in my life with this illness, I feel hopeful.
My encounter with endometriosis began at the age of 15, where persistent pain led to repeated dismissals by doctors who attributed my symptoms to normal period cramps—a recurring theme in the experiences of many women diagnosed with endometriosis. Over the years, I found myself in the emergency room countless times. In the past two years alone, I underwent hospitalization on three separate occasions, each time experiencing extensive damage to other organs from the endometriosis. Despite enduring two unsuccessful surgeries from previous OBs, the removal of my appendix, and a partial bowel resection, relief seemed elusive until recently.
It took me 15 years to find hope and relief, which was brought to me by my current doctor and specialist, Dr. Melissa McHale. Dealing with my stage IV endometriosis, Dr. McHale, along with Colorectal surgeon Dr. Obias, successfully excised the endometriosis from my colon, bladder, rectum, abdominal wall, and more. I cannot adequately express the positive impact Dr. McHale has had on my life. She offered hope, reassurance, and guidance, never doubting my pain. Her expertise, delicate approach, and informative communication left me completely comfortable and confident in her treatment plan.
Six weeks post-surgery, I am already experiencing a significantly improved quality of life. Endometriosis, being a full-body disease, has affected many, and Dr. McHale is a steadfast ally in this lifelong battle. I am immensely grateful to Dr. McHale for giving me my life back. Thank you, Dr. McHale!
Best,
Paige
I truly can’t put into words how much Dr. Tailor and her full team mean to me. I have stage four endometriosis and adenomyosis and have seen countless doctors and specialists. I’ll be honest. I was extremely hesitant and nervous to see another doctor and have pelvic nerve blocks, but I’m so thankful I did! Dr. Tailor and the nurses are extremely kind and compassionate and truly only want the best for their patients. I have never felt judged or dismissed when talking to her and including when I have received many nerve blocks. It is so hard to find caring medical professionals who take women’s chronic pelvic pain seriously and don’t tell you “it’s all in your head and you’re just being dramatic”. Dr. Tailor always listens to me and answers any questions I have thoroughly and in a way I can easily understand. Ms. Kim, the office receptionist is also very kind and amazing. Any time I have messaged Dr. Tailor or Ms. Kim, they respond quickly and have great communication. I’m so thankful my Endometriosis specialist recommended Dr. Tailor and her team!!
After nearly 10 years of tailbone, and hip misdiagnosis and ineffective treatments, Dr Sandhu and her team have finally given me a correct diagnosis and a treatment plan that started to immediately reduce my pain! Pain shooting down my hips and legs made it almost impossible to comfortably walk. After a few weeks of their treatment plan I was able to actively enjoy my Italy vacation easily walking 23000 steps a day! Dr Sandhu and her team ask questions and truly listen to you. Their level of care is exemplary and truly compassionate. They were right……”it’s in your pelvis”!
